Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Features
General Features
A new concept brought to our lives by technology, PLC can be defined as a programmable logic controller. PLC, formed from the first letters of the English words "programmable logic controller," is most commonly used in factories today.
Structure of a PLC
A PLC is a type of computer. This computer, which has a microprocessor but no monitor or keyboard, is used in the manufacturing stages in factories or for controlling machines. Its difference from normal computers is that it has many inputs and outputs. The programmable logic controller, which is suitable for use in factories due to its resistance to magnetic fields, dust, temperature, impacts, and vibrations, performs automatic control functions during the production stage, as its name suggests. PLCs, supported by appropriate programs that provide information about the system they will control, send the data they receive, numerically and analogously, to the system they are connected to. Programmable logic controllers have five main components. The central processing unit forms the brain of the system. It is where all arithmetic and logical operations are performed. The memory or storage is the section where the data or operations loaded into the program are kept. PLC memory is erasable, rewritable, programmable read-only memory. The input unit is the section that converts the data sent to the controller into digital data. The output unit is the section that outputs the processed data to the field or the system to which the PLC is connected. You can contact the relevant companies to get information about the sale and installation of PLCs, which are used in many areas of industry and have the capacity to carry out all the automation processes of a factory.
